PLEASE NOTE: Cotswold Animal Therapy is currently not taking on any new patients/clients, due to a reduction in working hours following maternity leave. However, I will happily help you find an appropriate therapist if your dog needs help.
Cotswold Animal Therapy is a Veterinary Musculoskeletal Therapy service, with a specialism in working with retired/injured and operational working dogs as well as working with pet dogs with a range of conditions.
Cotswold Animal Therapy provides Class 4 laser therapy, soft tissue work & massage, rehabilitation planning, and maintenance treatment for performance optimisation.
Rachael graduated as a Registered Veterinary Nurse from Hartpury University in 2008 and subsequently topped up her RVN qualification to a BSc, along with completing her A1 assessor and IQA Internal Verifier qualifications allowing her to train student Veterinary Nurses.
After completing the ESVPS NCert-Anaesthesia programme, which involved studying pain and pain medications, Rachael recognised the importance of pain control & rehabbing patients properly after surgery. This led to her becoming an animal musculoskeletal therapist in 2016, after completing the required study.
Since then, Rachael has enjoyed adding to her qualifications, particularly enjoying exploring the relationship between pain/injury/MSK conditions and canine behaviour, whilst completing a Behaviour and Training Diploma, her LANTRA Conservation Detection Dog Handler Qualification, and her MantrailingUK Instructor qualification.
Previously, she has also done extensive studying in the human field, qualifying as a registered L4 Sports Massage Therapist, working with sports people at her local Chiropractic Clinic.
Since leaving Vet Nursing and becoming self-employed, Rachael has aimed to build Cotswold Animal Therapy into a Canine Universe - a project which is ongoing!
Here at Cotswold Animal Therapy, we're aiming to build a complete canine universe.
Our Universe started with establishing a successful Canine musculoskeletal and veterinary physiotherapy service in 2017, making use of the very latest in Class 4 Laser technology. This is a wonderful tool for combining with massage and soft tissue techniques to help with pain management, inflammation, muscle injury, wounds, soft tissue pain and joint conditions such as arthritis.
Cotswold Animal Therapy can also help with rehab planning/post op help for dogs that have undergone or are about to undergo surgery, and specialises in working dogs, preventative work in puppies along with caring for those older dogs that are becoming arthritic.
We also stock a small range of canine supplements - these are supplements that we have used within the veterinary industry and have extensively tested on our own dogs. They are only stocked because we believe in them and have seen results with them.
